Confidence and self-esteem

Lack of self-confidence can hold us back in all aspects of life. Both professionally and personally. It manifests in the subconscious mind and we hold onto a negative belief in our ability.

Replacing negative thought patterns with positive ones leads to a more confident outlook. We use hypnotherapy to achieve this.

We tend to fixate on our weaknesses and be over critical of ourselves. This affects our ability to cope. Hypnotherapy helps to build self-esteem and develop a positive self-perception and self-empowerment.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can be exacerbated by stress and anxiety; and the symptoms themselves lead to yet more anxiety resulting in a vicious circle. IBS symptoms can include abdominal pain, bloating and changes to bowel habits. Symptoms can improve with relaxation and the management of stress.

A number of clinical studies have found hypnotherapy to be an effective treatment for IBS and as a result, hypnotherapy is recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of IBS.

Smoking Cessation

Your subconscious mind keeps you smoking because it has decided that smoking is important to you and has prioritised the behaviour. By bringing the conscious and subconscious minds together during hypnotherapy; the conscious, rational and logical mind will take charge and win. You will leave therapy as a non-smoker.

Phobias

An overactive survival response in the brain may result in Irrational fears and/or phobias. Your brain recognises a trigger point from the past and thinks a situation poses a threat to your safety. This trigger in the brain will then invoke anxious symptoms such as an increased heart rate, churning stomach and sweating. They are primitive reactions designed to enable you to cope with this threat and keep you safe.

With a phobia, that trigger can be innocent and non-threatening but become such a block that the increase in anxiety is limiting,
inappropriate and unhelpful. Hypnotherapy can manipulate the memory of the trigger and in doing so disrupt the response so that the brain no longer sees it as dangerous. The result is the elimination of the phobia.

Motivation and performance

Energy, drive and self-confidence have such an impact on how life unfolds. We want to get on and achieve but sometimes our subconscious mind gets in the way. Nerves can prevent you from doing well in exams, sport or other areas of performance.

Mental rehearsal is a method of visualising a situation to improve subsequent performance. Hypnotherapy can help by subconsciously tapping into your true potential, removing the self-inflicted barriers that prevent you from excelling.

Chronic Pain

Studies have repeatedly shown that if we are depressed, anxious or upset then we are likely to feel pain more. Hypnotherapy can help alleviate chronic pain by reducing negative feelings and encouraging positivity.

The result will be an increased level of the natural chemicals and hormones in our bodies that reduce our perception of pain. Hypnotherapy can help to put you back in control of your pain, life and emotions.
